Due to the reality that happened in Indonesia, the research on what Indonesian core vocabularies that Indonesian kindergarten students have been introduced through their storybooks is urgently needed. This book, therefore, provides a core vocabulary for teaching English to Indonesian preschool children. This includes the frequent nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and the collocations of these frequent content words. The result will definitely benefit kindergarten teachers or curriculum developers in choosing what English words are best to teach first. The corpus built will be useful for researchers interested in examining Indonesian children s storybooks. In addition, it might help storybook writers to create English stories based on the concepts that Indonesian children are already exposed to.
