Debashish Acharya obtuvo un máster en Física en la Universidad de Assam (India) y actualmente está realizando un doctorado en Nanofísica. Sus áreas de investigación se centran en la síntesis quimio-biológica de nanopartículas bimetálicas de núcleo/caparazón y sus diversas aplicaciones biomédicas.
