Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a business practice that benefits society. It demonstrates a sense of responsibility to the community and the environment. CSR is a "self-regulating business model". Implementation of CSR presents fears and challenges to companies. The objective of this study was to understand CSR practices in Uganda. The philanthropic approach employed without any legal obligations has a linkage to the theory of planned behaviour. The implications of this finding are that CSR position in developed economies is not comparable to developing economies and that CSR practice is relative and not universal.
