Ecuador has created its own tables to diagnose the nutritional status of its population and it is time to put them into function, the tables of the World Health Organization (WHO) have always been used to assess the body mass index (BMI). The objective of this work is to establish the correlation of the nutritional situation between the Ecuadorian percentiles and the WHO in adolescents of 12 years of age from the Jesús Martínez Ezquerecocha institution. The research is applied because knowledge acquired in the field of public health was used, which is related to the subject of study, also answers were given to the questions with the results obtained, this study is correlational because its purpose is to measure the degree of relationship that exists between two or more concepts or variables. The research approach is quantitative because data collection is used to test the hypothesis, based on numerical measurement and statistical analysis to establish patterns of behavior.
