Retrofitting of industrial buildings is extremly costly and leads to huge economical losses due to shutdown periods during the implementation of the retrofitting strategies. These losses will make the state officials and owners dread about making a decision to start the retrofitting endeavor because of the lack of information about the worthiness of the retrofitting. In this book, the worthiness of retrofitting reinforced concrete industrial buildings is dicussed. An industrial building in the region of Emilia-Romagna in the north of Italy, which suffered from many seismic events, is taken as a case-study example in order to perform the analysis. The analysis of the example of Emilia-Romagana will serve as a decision making model of how to proceed when faced with such challenges.
