Autorenporträt
Giancarlo Pucci graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Costa Rica. After more than 12 years of experience in the private sector, holding managerial positions in consumer markets and the tourism industry, Giancarlo founded his first social enterprise, the Magical Trees Foundation. Some of the most powerful education tools, and an important income stream for Magical Trees, come from the photographs that Giancarlo, his father and brother have taken. The organization uses these photographs to produce diverse materials and publications, including the Magical Trees of Costa Rica Book, a national best seller. Giancarlo is a recent graduate of the Masters in Strategic Leadership for Sustainability Program in Karlskrona, Sweden. He started as a photographer in 2010 and lives it as a means to reconnect with nature and himself, his passion for trees was the trigger to follow his dads and brothers steps in the art of photography. Additional from capturing images of magical trees, he also has specialized in aerial and adventure sports photography his short photographic career has participated in 2 collective exhibitions and 5 individual ones in Costa Rica, Mexico, Chile and Germany. Juan José Pucci is a cardiovascular surgeon by profession and a naturalist by vocation. Has practiced photography for more than 25 years, traveling extensively throughout the Costa Rican National Parks and reserves. Has participated in 10 individuals and 18 collective photo exhibits, including one at the World Museum in San Francisco, California. The Munich Theater, Germany. And the Geraadsbergen Museum, Bélgium. He has been chosen as the photographer of the year in 10 occasions, by the Costa Rican Photography Club, and won the picture of the year many times. His images have been published in multiple media, including books, calendars, and magazines of international prestige, such as Photolife, Natures Best and Black & White. He has published 6 books of his own, the last 4 with his sons, all nature topics of Costa Rica. Sergio Pucci studied Business Administration, photography and graphic design. Has practiced photography for more than 18 years and has worked as a freelance photographer for the last 13 years. He has participated in 16 individual and collective photo exhibits, including at the World Museum in San Francisco, California. The Munich Theater, Germany. Natural History Museum in London, and the Geraadsbergen Museum, Bélgium. In 2014 one of his images was selected by one of the most prestigious photography contests in the world, BBC & London Natural History Museum "Wildlife Photographer of the Year Photo Contest." This image was part of the 2014 exhibition in the Natural History Museum in London and part of the book they publish along with the BBC with the winner images of the contest. He has won awards like the photographer of the year and photo of the year by the Costa Rican Photo Club and silver in lights of America from National Geographic Spanish. His images have been published in multiple media, including books, calendars, and magazines of international prestige, such as Christie's Great Estates, Robb Report Vacational Homes, Runner's World, Conde Nast, On Board Explore and National Geographic Latin américa. He has published 4 books along with his dad and has done the photography for 3 other books, for Municipalidad de San Jose, for The Nature Conservancy Costa Rica and The Nature Conservancy Guatemala.
