Adolescents have special and unique needs, which can no longer be overlooked. College students who are usually in late adolescence, shift from a state of dependence to independence once they entered college. Adjusting to college involves the complementary processes of de-socialization and socialization. If a student had not successfully adjusted, then throughout the college life and afterwards, problem situations keep occurring resulting in low mental health and performance. In this book the counseling needs of the students of professional colleges were presented in order to identify and better understand the problem situations faced by them. This book explored the unmet counseling needs of the students by identifying specifically in which areas the needs are highly prevalent and understanding relationships between gender, socio-economic variables, academic performance and academic discipline.
