Background: Female genital mutilation (FGM) constitutes partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or injury to the external female genitals for nontherapeutic reasons. Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is an action existing in some cultures and regions of the world like west of Iran. Objectives: The purpose of the following research was to determine and compare mental health, marital satisfaction and sexual function between couples victim of FGM and normal couples. Patients and Methods: To achieve the goal of research, a sample of 414 couples (206 couples victim of FGM and 208 intact couples) of Uranament area in Kermanshah province were selected by non-randomized sampling. Enrich Marital Inventory, 25-SCL mental health inventory and Arizona Sexual Experience Scale was used for data gathering. Data was analyzed between the two groups by utilizing independent t- test.
