There is a new public health crisis threatening the world with the emergence and spread of 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) or the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). COVID-19 is the third highly pathogenic human coronavirus disease to date. Although less deadly than SARS and MERS, the rapid spreading of this highly contagious disease has posed the severest threat to global health in this century. The SARS-CoV-2 outbreak has lasted for more than half a year now, and it is likely that this emerging virus will establish a niche in humans and coexist with us for a long time. At present, the prevalence of this black fungus and OMICRON infection is skyrocketing among covid-19 and post-covid-19 patients. The health experts suspect the overuse of medication is a potential contributing factor for black fungus infection. New variants of SARS-CoV-2 have been reported weekly if not daily. Poor public health infrastructure, lower vaccination rate, and presence of a large number of immunocompromised populations that have weaker immune protection and are more susceptible to infection could become the fertile ground for breeding new variants.
