Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that can cause infections in people. Usually these infections affect the respiratory system and can be similar to influenza or evolve into a more serious disease such as pneumonia. The new coronavirus, called COVID-19, was first identified on 31/12/2019 in China, in the city of Wuhan. This new agent had never been identified before in humans. The source of the infection is still unknown. The transmission route is still under investigation. Person-to-person transmission has been confirmed and infection already exists in many countries and in people who had not visited the Wuhan market. According to information published by international authorities, the source of infection is unknown and may still be active.
