Cowboy Johnson and the Desert OasisThis is the first book in my Desert Store Series. The series begins with Mama and Geena, both misfit psychics, escaping their desperate situation and stumbling upon a quaint little white church in the New Mexico desert that has been converted into a gas station and grocery store. The store sits smack dab in the middle of a healing energy vortex. Easily distracted, Mama mistakenly nicknames the owner Cowboy Johnson when she meets him. Avery Judson, his real name, is fond of classic cars, and not a cowboy. Their Sight tells them that he is the person they've been searching for, and they move into the back of the store. Cowboy Johnson becomes a good father to Geena. He and Mama love each other but Mama is afraid of his love. Other misfits are drawn to the store because of the vortex of good energy it sits on. We meet Normaine, Native American artist, Italian Dapper Eddy and his Mafia Sisters, William the Dude, an old prospector, and Ray and Emma Makepeace, a world famous artist. To accommodate his growing desert store family, William the Dude and Cowboy Johnson build a motel, restaurant, and gift shop, calling the place Cowboy Johnson's Desert Oasis. People stopping there feel the healing vibrations and sometimes receive an unexpected, though hidden healing from one or the other of the misfit, psychic healers who people the store. Time passes, some move on. Some stay. But every year, the misfits gather at the store to celebrate Christmas and re-support one another. A heartwarming story of an oddball family whose strengths take us back to a time defined by open roads and endless love. 6x9" 325 pages.
