Aliza T. Speaks was born an "80s baby" from the country suburbs of North Carolina. After the loss of her father at an early age her mother encouraged her to read books. Already equipped with a vivid imagination, reading provided a myriad of endless dreams and a positive outlet. As a little girl she dreamed of becoming a storyteller, sharing her truth and perspective with others. After obtaining a Master's Degree in Biology Aliza developed a desire to serve her community. She stepped out on faith and embarked on a successful career in law enforcement. Aliza continues to break barriers with a God given passion for policing, racism, religion, love, and education. Cracking Black & Blue is the manifestation of a dream come true.
