Autorenporträt
Bapsi Sidhwa ist in Karachi geboren und in Lahore aufgewachsen. Mit ihren Romanen "The Crow Eaters", "An American Brat" und "Ice Candy Man" gilt sie als die wichtigste englischsprachige Autorin Pakistans. Der vorliegende Roman wurde 1998 von Deepa Mehta unter dem Titel "Earth" verfilmt. Bapsi Sidhwa lebt in Kanada.
