This article presents the problem of artisanal production of fired bricks in household life in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Indeed, in order to cope with the misery that the Congolese population is going through, some households have developed several survival strategies, one of the most remarkable in our environment is the artisanal production of fired bricks. This activity is widespread in Kisangani, Tshopo province in DRC. It has become important and constitutes the largest source of work and absorbs an abundant workforce.After our investigations, the results obtained reveal that the income earned from this trade does not improve the household living conditions of the brick makers. On the contrary, several disadvantages were noted, including the use of fruit trees as firewood. Those to whom the use of fruit trees as firewood has caused the scarcity of fruit on the local market.Nevertheless, this activity has been and remains as a sustainable solution to the multiple construction needs of sustainable materials and creates employment for the population of Kisangani.
