Gradually, dental schools beliefs starting from individualistic concepts are sentenced to admit conceptual changes regarding stomatognathic dynamics. TMD demands a wider perspective of this notion: A neurophysiological, pathophysiological and muscle-skeletal concomitant perspective must be integrated. Trigeminal nerve research has permitted knowing a complex cranial pair that not only limits to motor output and a wide transmission of peripheric thermo- algesic inputs but also has an active involvement in vasomotor modulation and in a broad of heterogenic vegetative reactions related to pneumotaxic and cardiac nocifensive responses. Cranio-cervico-facial pain diagnosis is challenging but therapeutic assertive success is equally intricate. A constant change of conception focus is required for the comprehension of its pathophysiology. Is imperative a multidisciplinary handling where a collective consciousness and a shared responsibility consolidate a team work vision.
