Autorenporträt
Kim-Joy is a bestselling cookbook author, loved for her unapologetically whimsical and joyful baked creations. She is open and honest on social media about her struggles with anxiety, social anxiety, selective mutism, and working towards being authentically herself. Prior to rising to fame on the Great British Baking Show 2018, Kim-Joy received a degree in Sociology at Bristol University, a Masters (distinction) in Psychology at Leeds Beckett University, is a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner and worked in the NHS treating people with anxiety and depression. She has worked with people from many walks of life, and in her spare time, she supports many charities and is an Ambassador for The Wren Bakery – a local charity helping women who face multiple disadvantage shape a better future for themselves by gaining skills in baking. Kim-Joy was born in Belgium to a Malaysian–Chinese mother and English father, and now lives in Leeds, UK with her partner Nabil, and her cats Inki and Mochi.
