Are you writing your first book? Or are you thinking about writing it? Do you have any idea what you're getting into? No? Let's talk about it Most aspiring authors concentrate on writing the book to the exclusion of all else. However, the reality is that creating a book is a long-term, multi-phase project and writing it is only one facet of the project. The complete project involves five separate phases: * Planning the book * Writing the book * Publishing the book * Marketing the book * Author business issues Unfortunately, planning and writing a book does nothing to prepare the author for the other phases of the project. Autorenporträt
Hank Quense is an author and lecturer. He has been writing fiction and non-fiction for over 20 years. He has been self-publishing for over 12 years and has his own imprint, Strange Worlds Publishing. His sci-fi and fantasy novels are all humorous or satiric. His non-fiction and lectures focus on fiction writing, self-publishing and book marketing.Over the years, Hank has created a wealth of material on writing, publishing and marketing. Last year, he got the idea of collecting all this material, now scattered over the web, into a single library that would be accessible to writers and authors seeking help or advice. He finally did it!Hank created the Writers & Authors Resource Center to share his expertise with inexperienced fiction writers, authors struggling to master the self-publishing process and authors seeking help for their book marketing efforts. Here is a link to the site: https: //www.writersarc.com Early in his writing career, Hank was strongly influenced by two authors: Douglas Adams and his Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Joseph Heller's Catch-22. Happily, Hank has never quite recovered from those experiences. He lives in northern New Jersey, a mere 20 miles from Manhattan, the center of the galaxy (according to those who live in Manhattan). He has two daughters and five grandchildren all of whom live nearby.
