This book is a management-training program with a focus on starting and improving small businesses as a strategy for creating more and better employment for women and men, particularly in emerging economies. It is one of the world's largest program in this field. The program has four inter-related packages. This book is a training program for people who want to start a business but are not sure of the business idea to pursue. It assists potential entrepreneurs to identify different business ideas, to analyse them and select the most promising one. The training uses an active, problem-centered learning approach which explores individual entrepreneurial potential, desire and needs through, for example, short cases and graphic illustrations.
