The research that led to this book was rewarded academic honorary colours by the examiners thereof, namely an international examiner from Griffith University (Australia), and two external national examiners (one from the University of Johannesburg, Johannesburg, South Africa, and one from the North West University, Potchefstroom, South Africa - now working as a private educationist).

Dennis Beukes holds a longstanding involvement in pre-service teacher education. As lecturer at the University of Pretoria, he noticed the flaws in teacher training for Creative Arts. This book reveal the multiple range of factors influencing the successful training of pre-service teachers for Arts education.
