Making beautiful, creative boxes on the scroll saw is surprisingly easy... and fun! Carole Rothman, author of the best-selling Wooden Bowls from the Scroll Saw, offers 28 original and unique box projects, and shows woodworkers with basic skills how to use the versatility of the scroll saw to make extraordinary projects. You'll learn her secrets of making boxes on the scroll saw that replicate effects usually associated only with band saws, routers or lathes. Rothman's methods include techniques such as fretwork, intarsia, and stacked rings. She incorporates new materials like veneer that produce high-end effects with little additional work or cost. Projects range from traditional, such as ring boxes, to whimsical, such as bookcases, apple pies and cupcakes with sprinkles. Her stand-alone projects are useful, easy to create, and make great gifts.
