From a TV career to a pack of dogs His mother wants a daughter, his father a successor for the workshop - for Ralf Alef it is the start of a difficult childhood and youth. What saved him was his affection for animals. He was particularly fond of dogs. Even years later - working in television with show stars such as Jürgen von der Lippe and Hape Kerkeling - the thought of a life with animals remains with him. When he resigns at the drop of a hat to work as an animal filmmaker and dog trainer, many people think he is crazy. And indeed, all beginnings are difficult ... Amusingly and with a good dose of self-irony, the author tells of failures and resurrections and of a turbulent life with dogs, cats, geese and horses: of escapee king Berry, gentle Sandra and other companions, of chases on motorways, the first puppies from two of his own litters and heartbreaking farewells. An emotional declaration of love for life with animals
