Crimes on Latimer presents only six of Fontana's many early cases. There are plenty of other mysteries in his past which will be explored and detailed in other collections of his early cases. This half-dozen crime tales opens a window onto Marco Fontana's world before he found himself dealing with the events of Murder on Camac.

Joseph R. G. De Marco hails from Philadelphia. He is the author of the Marco Fontana Mysteries (JMB) and in addition he writes The Vampire Inquisitor series (JMB) and the Doyle and Kord Mysteries (JMS Books). His short fiction has been anthologized in a number of collections. His nonfiction appears in academic journals, encyclopedias, and other collections. He has written extensively for the LGBT press in a number of cities as well as for national publications. His PGN article "Gay Racism" was awarded the prize for excellence in feature writing by the Gay Press Association and was anthologized in three nonfiction collections. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Weekly Gayzette (Philadelphia), Editor-in-Chief of New Gay Life (a national magazine), and has been an editor or contributing editor for a number of publications including Il Don Gennaro (a national Italian-American magazine), and Gaysweek (NY).
