It is of immense importance to build an information base with the data presented in homicide crimes, not only in Brazil, but also locally. This information, if well extracted, can be used to develop public policies aimed at reducing the staggering number of murders that occur every year in the country. It is also possible to monitor the efficiency of the Criminal Investigation Division, which, as has been said, is well above the national average.
