Nancy Holder hat in den USA bereits über sechzig Bücher und weit mehr als zweihundert Kurzgeschichten veröffentlicht. Für ihre Romane wurde ihr viermal der Bram-Stoker-Award für den besten Mystery-Roman des Jahres verliehen, und sie wurden bereits in über zwanzig Sprachen übersetzt. Außerdem hat sie an den Drehbüchern für mehr als zwanzig Buffy- und Angel-Episoden mitgewirkt. Sie lebt gemeinsam mit ihrer Tochter in San Diego, wo sie an der Universität unterrichtet.
