It was host to the PGA Championship that John Daly won in 1991 and the U.S. Women s Open won by Lauri Merten in 1993. It was also host to the 2005 Solheim Cup matches. For many years it has been noted as one of the top 100 courses in the U.S. by Golfweek and Golf Magazine, two of golf's most popular magazines.
