The insurance participation is positively linked with life and livelihood security of the poor farmers enabling them to get free from the trap of rural money-lenders, to optimally use the costly inputs like fertilizer, quality seeds etc. and to rescue from the distressed sale of their product. This book has been designed to look into the effects of crop insurance on the use of inputs, production of output for farms of different sizes. Crop insurance has been included in the syllabus of under-graduate courses and masters in economics, statistics, actuarial statistics, commerce, management, sociology and other branches of social sciences. All overthe world, a lot of research is being pursued on this issue.
