In the training process of cross-country skiers, the methodology of the training process, and in particular the preparation period, is constantly changing. In the training process, the content of the training refers to; the periodisation of training in the annual cycle. According to the northern conditions the annual cycle of skiers is divided into 5 periods (competitive, preparatory, competitive, preparatory, transitional), means and methods of training, definition of concepts of volume and intensity, methods of recovery, organization of training sessions, planning. In this regard, there is a need to add our developed methodology in the training process and monitor the effectiveness of the adjustments made. The aim of our study was to identify the effectiveness of the influence of physical training means of high school age cross-country skiers in achieving sports results. A total of 10 athletes from 16 to 18 years old took part in this study, including 8 racers, who were first-rank athletes and 2 who were second-rank athletes. The study was conducted at the Amga Children and Youth Sports School "named after N.G. Zakharov-Sakhaachcha" in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
