This work examines the differences of HR recruiting departments with reference to diverse recruiting methods for qualified employees in the IT sector on a crossnational level. The focus was set on external recruiting methods, which include passive and active forms of recruitment. The cost factor which has to be considered in recruiting decisions can - in combination with bad decisions - cause a fatal economic impact for an enterprise. However, due to today's lack of qualified employees, entrepreneurs increasingly need to ask themselves if their recruiting departments are well-equipped for a change in recruiting methods. The shortage of suitable candidates can be counteracted with a strategic recruiting approach of HR.
