This study should be useful for researchers interested in using large-scale databases and quantitative methods to conduct cross-national studies, especially on the relationship between student achievement and attitude towards learning.

Dr. Liou studied at the Quantitative Methods in Education track in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota. Her research interests include application of quantitative methods to facilitate education research, large- scale survey data analysis, and cross-cultural studies of student motivation.
