J. M. "Mike" Buchanan, an American history buff, has always been interested in frontier life. He is an avid fan of the old-time living and tales from simpler times. He wanted to write a story in a style he likes to read, and fastened in on real characters and places to add authenticity to his efforts. Buchanan loves the outdoors, the sounds of the country, and living a rural life. He enjoys horseback riding on his 160 acres he shares with his fiancée in southeast Oklahoma.
