The journal is operated through its parent organization, the Association for Public Religion and Intellectual Life (APRIL), an interreligious network of academics, activists, artists, and community leaders seeking to engage the many ways religion meets the public. Contributions to the journal exist at the nexus of religion, education, the arts, and social justice. In the June 2018 issue of CrossCurrents: "On the Edge of Apocalypse: An Introduction" by Lynn R. Huber and Tom Mould "India, America, and the Nationalist Apocalyptic" by Arun Chaudhuri "Unpacking the Bunker: Sex, Abuse, and Apocalypticism in 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'" by Megan Goodwin "Apocalypse, Again: Language, Temporality, and Repetition in an Afghan Apocalypse" by William E.
