This guide is published by the European Inland Waterways Section of the Cruising Association (CA). This guide is published by the European Inland Waterways Section of the Cruising Association (CA). The River Moselle, which runs for 394kms from Neuves-Maison in France through Luxembourg and Germany (where it is known as the Mosel) to finally join the Rhine at Koblenz, has hitherto been poorly served with cruising guides to what is widely regarded as one of Europe's most beautiful waterways. This guide is now the first to provide comprehensive information on this cruising route in English. Aimed at motor yachts with a draught of 2.5m or below and capable of reducing air draft to a maximum of 4.4m, the guide includes step-by-step navigation details for the river, including distances; bridge heights; lock dimensions and VHF channels; descriptions of moorings and facilities, and information on the sights, culture and visitor attractions along the route. It is written by CA members Andy and Gwen Mulholland, who have cruised extensively over the past decade in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, and edited by Gordon Knight. It will be updated regularly via reports from CA members actively cruising the waterways, several hundred of which are submitted each year, and includes a 15 per cent discount offer on first year's CA membership to purchasers applying online during the year. Members then have access to additional hyperlinks to the CA's proprietary CAptain's Mate app, enabling them to read the most up to date information on mooring locations and navigation restrictions as they are posted.

Autorenporträt
Andy Mulholland was smitten during early holidays on the Norfolk Broads and the love of boats has since been a strong lifetime influence. Moonlighting as an engineer in his 20s on Thames hire boats led to building his first boat, using a cheaply-acquired GRP hull. Ever bigger boats ensued, till by the 90s a Broom cruiser and enthusiastic wife enabled widespread cruising of Channel coasts from his Solent base. A special Millennium trip from Le Havre to Paris planted an interest in inland cruising. Now equipped with a new Dutch-built cruiser designed and fitted out for extended inland cruising, he and his wife Gwen have travelled over 16,000 kms on the inland waterways of France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and the Netherlands.
