President Gbagbo, however arrested on April 11, 2011, following the post-electoral crisis of November 28, 2010, was transferred to The Hague on November 29 of the same year and detained within the walls of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the holding of a trial against him. After five years of detention, the trial takes place from January 28, 2016 to March 31, 2021. Following the judgment on appeal, President Gbagbo is definitively acquitted of all charges brought against him for crimes against humanity by the Chamber of ICC appeal. The triumphant return of President Gbagbo which took place on June 17, 2021 marked an exceptional event for most of the sovereign people of Côte d'Ivoire. The immense joy of this people motivates this population to forgive themselves and agree to live together again on the basis of a peaceful, dignified, transparent and free reconciliation, regardless of the discontent of a minority, made up of sympathizers of the Rhdp. For a perfect reconciliation, President Gbagbo founded the Pan-African Party of African Peoples in Côte d'Ivoire (PPA-CI), on October 17, 2021. For the success of this reconciliation, the members of the Ppa-Ci and Pdci parties s unite.
