From 1981 to 2002 he acted as Market Development Director for Newsweek International - Latin American/Caribbean. He retired to Key West in 2006. In 2011, he wrote Cuba y el Cayo Hueso de Ayer and in 2013 Key West Passion for Cuba's Liberty. This book examines the contributions made by Cubans in Key West towards Cuba's independence as well as many other historical facts about this city like the cigar rollers, Jose Marti's visits, the San Carlos Institute, aviation, Ernest Hemingway, among other things
