I went to Cuba with an open mind, and came back with an inspired heart. I walked in downtown Havana, where colorful troubadours entertained tourists in the square, and I strolled through the village of Cojimar, where Hemingway docked his boat, fished for the big catch, drank rum with locals, and ran guns for the revolution. I ate in wonderful restaurants built into crumbling buildings, and I learned about Cuban culture through the eyes of its talented artists. Cuba is a travel journal, but not in a traditional sense. This book is a collection of photographs, each one presented in a distinct voice, Psalms if you will, the sacred songs that make up Cuba. I often hear people say, "I want to get to Cuba before it changes" But you had better hurry, that change, the new revolution of creative inspiration and expression, free of restraint and politics, has already begun.
