La narración hace gala de una gran concisión y resulta engañosamente sencilla. El estilo de Berner mezcla ingenuidad con malicia, candor y crueldad, humor e ironía, todo ello mediante los recursos del cómic. Hay que hacer notar la intención paródica de sus ilustraciones. Dicha impresión se confirma al leer los distintos relatos que componen el volumen, los cuales, sin embargo, siguen las líneas básicas de los conocidos cuentos en los que se apoya. La autora se permite numerosos giros en la trama y algunas libertades, como el de presentar a Caperucita montada en bicicleta y circulando por un suburbio. No obstante, dichas licencias respetan la estructura original del cuento.

Rotraut Susanne Berner is a German author and illustrator. She has won various prestigious awards for her work such as the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Prize and the Hans Christian Andersen award. The latter was awarded in 2016, during the Children's Book Fair in Bologna.
