Cleveland's own Author Jameel Davis, earned his BA in Justice Studies from Kent State University in 2013, and has been a Correctional Officer at the Cuyahoga County Sheriff Department ever since. Later after being employed at the Cuyahoga County Sheriff Department, he became, an Agent of Change, a Speaker, Writer, Poet and Author. Author Jameel Davis is a positive and highly respectable individual. He is a man of change, an encouraging leader, with many proteges of all ages and backgrounds; from toddlers to adults, students to professionals, and even incarcerated individuals. He often speaks and shares his poetry and wisdom in front of groups, and delivers keynote speeches at local schools and organizations. Jameel has served as a panelist for Cleveland Clinic's Youth Violence Discussion, as part of their Safe Summer Campaign. He have lead breakout sessions on Effective Communication Skills and was selected by Project Love, to co-facilitate the Debra Ann November Kickoff For Kindness event held at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center. Jameel is featured in the 10th, 11th and 12th Anniversary Editions of Who's Who in Black Cleveland, the 10th edition being forwarded by Lebron James. He appeared as a guest on WVON-1690 Chicago (Matt McGill's morning show), WENZ Z107.9, Black Squirrel Radio, Voice It Radio, and on many other radio platforms. Jameel has been featured at many Barnes and Noble Bookseller locations on the East Coast, appearing with, "How Success Became My Focus " and "Cultivating Minds To Own Thyself." The Ohio Entertainment Awards has presented Jameel Davis with the 2017 Inspirational Entrepreneur Award at the OEA Honors held Sunday November 5, 2017. Jameel Davis, who was born and raised by a very young mother in poverty dominated communities in Cleveland, enjoys traveling, spreading his young wisdom and enjoying life. He has recently returned from Toronto, Ontario, Canada promoting his new book, "Cultivating Minds To Own Thyself" at the Toronto Urban Book Expo.
