This book aims to explore Khaled Hosseini's fictional works, The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns. It also intends to explore these texts as a coalescence of history and fiction forming a nexus for Afghan cultural confessions in the post post modern time. The objective of this research is to critique the biocultural parameters that endorse acts of barbarianism which lead to confessions at the micro and macro cosmic level; the protagonists confess as much as the larger cultural milieu. Hosseini's characters make confessions on a micro cosmic level, which is studied in the light of the individual consciousness and the process of individuation. This research claims that these confessions are a source of macrocosmic confessions of a nation and a culture, highlighting multiple truths of myths, and historical data, which contribute to the formation of such a culture. For purposes of analysis, interviews and secondary sources such as psychoanalytical tools have been used. The research traces the history and evolution of Afghanistan and explores a biocultural identity in the light of psychoanalytical, and cultural theories which can highlight the significance of confessions.
