Autorenporträt
Dr. Joseph Orlando Palacio was born in the village of Barranco and grew up in several villages in southern Belize where his brother was teaching. He earned a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts at the University of Toronto, Canada, an M.A. degree in Anthropology specializing in Archeology from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and the Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in Anthropology. He was the first Belizean Archeological Commissioner and then served 25 years as the Resident Tutor at the University of the West Indies School of Continuing Studies in Belize City, Belize. He lives in his home village of Barranco.
