Cutural Unity in Diversity is a comparative analysis of the cultural values celebrated by black African communities across the continent. It is an Afro- centred attempt to counter the systematic distortions and misrepresentations that made many Africans repudiate their culture and believe and regard themselves as different and unrelated people by virtue of belonging to different religious, tribal and national demarcations. The book argues for commonalities between and among Africans in a bid to contribute in fostering unity which is necessary for nation building and development. Using epic texts, it explores the aspects integral to African life; social, economic, political as well as religious practices. Two main conclusions emerge; that Africans are indeed one and that Europeans have always held a distorted picture of Africa and her rich cultural heritage.
