The book argues for commonalities between and among Africans in a bid to contribute in fostering unity which is necessary for nation building and development. Using epic texts, it explores the aspects integral to African life; social, economic, political as well as religious practices. Two main conclusions emerge; that Africans are indeed one and that Europeans have always held a distorted picture of Africa and her rich cultural heritage.
