Martin Wamalwa es licenciado por la Universidad de Urbaniana. Obtuvo su MPhil y PGDE en la Universidad de Moi. Actualmente es candidato al doctorado en la misma universidad. Desde su graduación, ha impartido clases en varias universidades, entre ellas la Universidad Moi y la Universidad Jomo Kenyatta de Kenia. Actualmente es profesor en la Universidad del Monte Kenia.
