A majority among the profiled (whose identities have been changed as clinical-identifying material has been changed: names, places, personal history, physical characteristics, and demographics) do not and did not require medication. Some do. Rather than discussing "the cure," Dr. Kellerman employs the far-more-realistic goal of struggling better, which is a faithful reflection of what the therapeutic process is about.
