Several decades of reflection, teaching and research in the field of STS work in Cuba have allowed me to identify several problematic situations: first, historical-practical; second, theoretical-methodological; third, educational-pedagogical.In spite of the fact that Cuba has a tradition of scientific thought and patriotic-humanist consciousness of STS orientation born in the 19th century and that more than two decades have passed since STS was incorporated into the Cuban reality as a field of work, it is not common practice to establish the links between the tradition and the referred field. In the bibliographical review carried out, no proposals for general theoretical-methodological frameworks for the Cuban STS reality were found, nor general educational models for its teaching in the country, despite the years that have passed since the beginning of STS studies and the fact that several master's and doctoral theses have been defended.
