Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the whole worlds. May His blessings and peace be upon the noble Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (SAW), his family, companions and entire Muslims until last day. This book deals elaborately with the legal questions on the authentic concept and institutions of children custody in Islam and its journey so far in Nigeria. It also provides supporting evidences on the improvement prospects of the Child Custody in Nigeria, from the Glorious Qur'an, the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet, practices of the Companions of the Prophet and its legal adoption in some countries like Malaysia, Egypt etc. For the fact that dissemination of printed and published Islamic knowledge is an essential element in the move to make a country as an intellectual epicentre in Islamic jurisprudence on social issues, I have decided to publish my postgraduate research project and turn it to a book that addresses the Nigerian situations in particulars. Thus, in dealing with the subject matter of the book, I recorded what is basic to the point, and the accurate principles of child custody customarily and religiously in views of various settings inside and outside Nigeria.
