Human mind is ingenious enough to get incited to commit a crime in social networks, it is necessary that effective legal activities and methodology to control and to prevent cybercrimes by advanced cyber techniques be channelized. Cyber Crime prevention needs a strong security mechanism, which includes virtual private networks, firewalls and intrusion detection systems as well as various amendments of existing cyber laws. As online social networks provide the facility to post messages by the users, it is prone to susceptible malicious message that contains URLS used for phishing, spam and other malware distribution. Therefore, a novel Content-Based Centralized URL Filtering Scheme (CCUFS) has been proposed for suspicious URL detection in the cyber space. A novel Rank-based Phishing and Malware Detection System (RPMDS) has been proposed for detecting phishing and malware attacks in the cyber space. A new Injection Attack Detection System (IADS) has been proposed for detecting injection attacks in the cyber space. Thus, suitable detection schemes have been proposed in this work for detecting different forms of cyber-attacks in the cyber space.
