"Staying true to his previous work of giving voice to our innermost thoughts, Cynical Rhymes and Lullabies forces the reader to realize that none of us are immune to the necessity of identifying our vulnerabilities. Shining light onto our own experiences, thoughts, and secrets, David Synn paints pictures with his poems that create a graffiti mural of necessary truths and the human desire to mask our cynicism and dress it up as something else entirely. Not afraid to cut open the scarred covering over his incredible heart, David proves that we are all more similar than we would like to admit."- Brandi Good "David Synn's Cynical Rhymes and Lullabies is a mirror of our regrets, and a blueprint for improved human communication. His vivid, sometimes shocking imagery is brave, honest, and well written. He has tasted the hot blood spilled, seen the flash of a knife blade, and heard the bone cracking. He forgives all transgressions, and after sleepless nights, found personal peace. He is especially poignant in his tributes to Missy when writing about the night he met his love and later marrying his love and best friend. His wisely cynical verses and lyrical lullabies inspire me to reread and aspire to be a better person." - Nancy Belle
Autorenporträt
David Synn is a musician/composer from Charleston WV. David's first EP, Frequency Of Static, was released in 2010. It was self produced and well received. After taking a year long break from his signature Electronica sound to join the band Godmode Broadway, he got back into the studio to write and record his first full length album Digital Ideations in 2012. After a year and a half with Godmode, the band called it quits in 2013. David soon joined another local Charleston band, StychNTyme, a polar opposite from the Dillinger Escape Plan sounds of Godmode Broadway, resembling more the likes of Static X or Linkin Park. David has said that he had the performances of his life with StychNtyme but the band eventually would break up in 2014. Synn decided it was time to focus on being a solo artist again, releasing Soulmates, a well received classical piano style album in 2014. David has stated he believes it is his best work to date. After Soulmates he released one more album, Art Is Dead, styled after the heavy industrial sounds of Skinny Puppy and KMFDM. Although he has received some critical praise for his music, he is a poet at heart. This is the official web page for his poetry and music. With four self released original albums under his belt, David Synn is no stranger to writing. His words reveal necessary truths of which anyone can relate. Drawing inspiration from pop culture, relationships and personal introspection, he writes in a rhythm all his own, reflecting his influences in performance art. His first chapbook of poetry, Art Of Disillusionment, was well received. Dark and brooding, Art Of Disillusionment is available now on Amazon.com. His second book, Cynical Rhymes and Lullabies, picks up where AOD left off. Cynical Rhymes and Lullabies focuses more on balance, while maintaining the dark and overall cynical wording of his first book. Cynical Rhymes and Lullabies will be available March 11th 2016. David resides in Charleston WV with his wife Missy.
