Published to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings. On 6 June 1944, now known as D-Day, Allied forces landed on the beaches at Normandy in an attempt to liberate German-occupied mainland Europe from Nazi control. Codenamed Operation Neptune, the landings constitute the largest seaborne invation in history, and laid the foundation for Allied victory on the Western Front. Using rare archival footage from the archive at IWM, this flip book recreates Exercise Fabius the largest amphibius training exercise of the war and the final rehearsal for aruguably the most risky military operation in history.
