The Gracés house, in Asturias, mourns the disappearance of Angélica. Legend assures that there is a village under the river: perhaps the girl can be found there. Meanwhile, Martín, her husband, falls in love with another woman. When Angelica returns, she encounters death, and the young woman decides to become a legend, sinking in the river. Essentially poetic work in which Asturian airs of legend and certain touches of telluric mythology merge, The Lady of the Dawn shows us that happiness and love are threatened by death. The most primitive human fears and the drives for survival and self-destruction are at stake. Life and death, two sides of the same coin, one that cannot exist without the other.
