Ingo Schaefer ist ein in Deutschland lebender Fotograf und Autor. Der Schwerpunkt seiner fotografischen Arbeit liegt auf Tanz-, People- und Landschaftsfotografie. Er studierte Musik und Amerikanistik in Duisburg, wo er sich mit dem Werk von Walker Evans, Robert Flaherty und dem amerikanischen Dokumentarfilm beschäftigte. Seit mehreren Jahren arbeitet er mit verschiedenen Ballettkompanien und Choreografen an der fotografischen Dokumentation ihrer Kreationen. Seine fotografischen Arbeiten über die internationale Tanzszene zeigen die kreative Arbeit innovativer Choreografen und Tänzer unserer Zeit, vom klassischen Ballett bis zum zeitgenössischen Tanz."Mein Ziel ist es, die Ausdruckskraft und Eleganz der Werke der Künstler in bestmöglicher fotografischer Qualität einzufangen. Bei meiner Zusammenarbeit mit den Künstlern ist die Persönlichkeit, die hinter dem Kunstwerk steht, für mich genauso wichtig wie das geschaffene Werk."
