When a viciously mangled corpse is discovered, Jane struggles to keep her students safe and calm. The Apaches blame wendigos, but Calvin has trouble believing his trading partners. A demon who possesses the dead and craves human flesh sounds like a campfire tale. When Jane's daughter is attacked, Calvin offers the sweet schoolteacher an armed escort home from school. Although home is hardly safe, considering Jane's husband is the meanest drunk in town. The hanging of an outlaw exposes a gruesome truth-anyone could become a wendigo. A rider goes out for help but his horse comes back without him. The town of Morely will stand or fall on its own. Shots are fired, secrets are exposed and love is tested. Can the townsfolk band together or will Morley become another ghost town of the West?
Autorenporträt
Robin Goldblum has had her nose stuck in a book for as long as she can remember. A love of crafting words in to stories soon followed. During her formative years, she won a short story contest in Writing! Magazine followed by a National Scholastics Award for writing, which included the honor of reading that story at the Library of Congress. As the editor of her college literary magazine, she found organizing writers to be much like wrangling wendigos! Robin had to take a difficult break from writing, although never from reading, for several years as she fought her way through the rigors of veterinary school and developing her career. She won for being One of the Best Veterinarians in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 2018 and 2019. Yet, when the urge to write overwhelmed her once again, she let the words pour out of her. With a special love for the science fiction, fantasy and horror worlds, the stories she's written for herself have always been colorful. Over the past ten years, Robin has continued developing her writing as walks the road of life. She married the most wonderful man and they had three beautiful, but rambunctious, children together. In between healing small animals (if you can count dogs like Irish Wolfhounds and Great Danes as "small") and chasing little children around, the urge to write remains.
